Sancton Hill Wind Farm goes live

12th Jun 2012

Our newest wind farm has begun generating green electricity in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Sancton Hill Wind Farm comprises five wind turbines, each measuring 100m to the tip of the blade.

Construction work started in November 2011 and completion of the building stage takes REG Windpower’s total operating fleet to over 50MW.

A fund has been set up to support good causes locally throughout the wind farm’s working life and the first £70,000 slice has already been paid to a number of local organisations.

A futher £35,000 will be available every year for applications from our neighbours in and around Sancton and Newbald villages.
